You can’t have a house with a yard and claim to be Greek without a fig tree. This one is mine. It’s from Volos. My father in law brought a piece back to America. My ex wife had planted it in a smaller pot until it started growing and then we moved it to a larger one which is in the picture. It started off from a little stem and around 4-5 years later into this. So far I’ve been lucky and hopefully it will continue to grow. I’m trying to be optimistic. I live extremely close to the ocean so I’m not sure if the salt in the air affects my soil and my fig tree. I guess time will tell but so far so good. Eventually I’m going plant to it in the ground and that will probably be next summer or spring. I’ll be wrapping my fig tree up and put it in my garage in about another month.
